Wendy Landry Biography
Wendy is a member of the Red Rock Indian Band, has spent her life living in Northwestern Ontario. She has been married to Pat for 38 years, 3 adult daughters and has raised 3 children from the Foster Care system. She spent 22 years in Corrections, Professor in Police Foundations at Confederation College, Manager of Municipal Affairs at Union Gas/ Enbridge, and is now the Vice President Indigenous Leadership, Partnerships and Strategies at Confederation College.
Wendy began her Municipal Career in 2010 and in 2014 was elected Mayor and has maintained that seat since, in the Municipality of Shuniah. Wendy was the First, First Nation person and the longest serving President of the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association, and on AMO Board and Executive member from 2017 to 2025, member of the MOU, and has chaired many of the task forces and Committees including the Indigenous Advisory Table and a member of the Healthy Democracy, and Committees with FCM.
Present and past AMO Board members will attest to Wendy’s passion, commitment, strong voice, genuine relationships, and a consensus builder. An admitted Extrovert, Wendy gets her energy from People and Advocacy. Wendy has proven time and again that she can productively engage with various stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, lived experiences, and work with all political stripes
