Steve Travale Biography

Steve Travale is an active community leader and Councillor in the Municipality of Brockton, running in the 2026 municipal election to continue serving rural constituents with dedication and enthusiasm. For those same reasons, he is seeking your support to serve rural Ontario municipalities as a member of the AMO Board of Directors - Rural Caucus.

In addition to Council, Steve has professional experience working in two rural municipalities in roles spanning communications, community engagement, and strategic initiatives. Serving in both staff and council roles, in addition to previous experience at the federal and provincial levels, gives Steve a unique perspective and enables him to understand a full range of issues impacting rural communities across Ontario. 
 
Steve is running for this position to be a strong voice and a champion for rural communities. He is motivated to advance practical, collaborative solutions on issues - ranging from rural transportation/ridesharing, to legislative roadblocks affecting farmers and much more that he’s been hearing from AMO delegates. He believes rural municipalities are stronger when they work together to address shared concerns.

Steve’s professional experience, combined with a range of volunteer activities throughout the region has allowed him to build positive and impactful relationships with elected officials, municipal staff, and ratepayers across many rural communities across Ontario.
 
He prides himself on being an active, accessible, and accountable councillor and will bring that same approach to the Rural Caucus - committed to listening, responding, and ensuring municipal leaders have a representative who is always willing to pick up the phone and advocate on their behalf to strengthen the fabric of small-town, agricultural, and rural municipalities across the province.
