Bridging Local Action and Intergovernmental Strategy
Kieran McKenzie is an experienced Windsor City Councillor, non-profit leader, and former federal staffer seeking re-election to the AMO Board to turn municipal challenges into effective intergovernmental policy. Now in his second term on Council, he focuses on infrastructure renewal, economic diversification, transit and active transportation, and sustainable housing. His senior leadership role at Family Respite Services further strengthens his practical understanding of community needs, policy development, and implementation across all orders of government.
On the AMO Board, Councillor McKenzie has delivered focused leadership by:
- Amplifying Member Voices on Housing: As Vice-Chair of LUPR, he chaired AMO’s “Have Your Say” session on Housing and Land Use Planning, helping members share local experiences and shape collective advocacy.
- Championing Economic Safety: As a border-city councillor, he prompted AMO to assess the municipal impacts of Canada-US trade disputes.
- Aligning Local and Provincial Priorities: He secured Windsor Council support for key AMO advocacy on housing and homelessness, active transportation, and public safety.
