John Creelman Biography

John Creelman is a 35 year veteran of Mono Council, Dufferin County
Council and the judiciary, serving 15 years as a Justice of the Peace. He
briefly sat on the AMO Board in the 1990’s.

John is a strong advocate for reform of the Provincial/Municipal fiscal
relationship believing reliance on property taxes and a patchwork of grants
from higher levels of government is not sustainable.

He is a passionate advocate for road safety believing the Province must do
more to increases penalties for speeding and reckless driving along with
more and better driver education.

Also he wants to see the Province assist municipalities in collecting over a
$1 billion dollars in unpaid POA fines. These monies owing to us would go
a long way towards offsetting growing police costs.

John believes AMO and ROMA must strongly advocate on these and other
issues. 'Unless we are true partners at the table speaking forcefully for
municipalities, we are probably on the menu.' John is accessible and open
to ideas. Contact him at john.creelman@townofmono.com or 519.939.2472
